I've been reading the forum for a little while new and thought I should probably introduce myself. This seems to be a wonderful community, and I find myself looking forward to reading it whenever I get a chance.
I'm pretty new to being owned by indoor birds. I have chickens and turkeys that are my "outside pets", and decided that I would like to add indoor birds. I found my two conures (that were being rehomed) early in the new year. Baby is a 6 year old sun conure and Tango is about a year and half old GCC. They've been together since Tango was a baby, and the previous owner wanted them to stay together. They are sweet little feather babies, and I'm lucky that they were pretty well socialized in their previous life. They seem to be bonded, but have plenty of affection for me as well - which is awesome.
After they came to live with me, I started volunteering at a parrot rescue once a week. I've really been enjoying it - and listening to 100+ large birds talk, squawk and sing for a few hours - makes my sun conure sound quiet and reserved in comparison :03:
