Ok guys. I had "the talk" with my hubby and told him I felt we had room for one more in our bird room that we can rescue or rehome. Actually 2, but I won't tell him that for awhile. :hehe2:
So I looked into a Harlequin Macaw that needed a home 3 hours from my house just the other day. But came to realize I can't do another large bird. With my very full time job, it would really be hard to give a macaw what it needs to thrive with having 2 already. I know small birds can be work, but we all know how attached macaws can be to there humans. And with a small bird, my daughter can interact with it as well and my hubby.
So I have the go to start looking for a smaller bird to add to our flock. So far I have come up with a Caique and Indian Ring Neck's as my top choices. I have done some reading but want to know all I can about these to species. I read that Caiques can be aggressive to other species, but I know many of you own other species with Caiques. So any information anyone can give me on these two species would be great. The good, the bad and the ugly is welcome! I always like to know what I'm getting into before adopting.
Galahs are also an option. They seem to be a lot easier then other toos. But I don't see too many galahs that need new homes out there.
Anyway, any and all info would be great appreciated! Thanks in advance!
