Or what they think they want anyway. I usually have Chicken on my shoulder when doing most of my household chores, and today was no different. I was doing dishes, and she was getting obnoxious. As a lot of you know, Chicken is pretty much half duck, because she loves water.
After the fiftieth time she grabbed my ear (her way of saying "I want that!"), I finally just gave her what she wanted. I set her in the clean side of the sink, adjusted the water so it wasn't too warm, and sprayed her with the sprayer. She was not thrilled. She likes her showers in the bathtub, where she has room to run around in the water, and the sink is just not big enough for that.
I will say that after that, I put her back on my shoulder and finished doing dishes with no more issues from her. With birds, or children, sometimes the best punishment is really just to give them what they think they want.
