Gilbert's Hatchday Weekend

We just got back from our long weekend at the beach. Gilbert essentially celebrated his first hatchday for about a week. My friend even had a new toy waiting for him at her house. His travel cage is near her finch cage and he has a nice bay view. I think he looks forward to beach weekends now!
Anyhow, it was super windy on the beach and such a comfortable temperature. When I brought Gilbert, he turned into the wind and started to 'hover', holding his wings out and using the wind to help him. He was SO EXCITED doing this and just kept flying on the beach into the wind. It seemed to boost his confidence in flying. (He isn't really able to fly well yet so he has very little confidence flying in general.)

WOW!!!! GORGEOUS pictures of Gil! He sure had a blast! And I think you did as well. How nice of your friend to get Gilbert a birthday present!
