Just a note: Yes i know some people don't like flight suits but please don't leave hate in the comments. Thank you.

My ringneck has worn her homemade flight suit quite a few times, Maybe 3 or 4 in the past few days. Unfortunately since it's homemade we wouldn't condition her to it since we had to put in on her to make it fit, but we conditioned her to the fabric a week before. She hates it SO much but she adores being out and about and usually forgets about the suit once we go outside. She constantly chews on the suit even sometimes when she's outside. I leave it near her to condition it but she instantly runs away. I pinned it to my shirt, she chewed on it. I put a hazelnut inside it, She took the hazelnut out and ate it, then proceeded to chew on the suit. Not to mention it's impossible to get it on her. Please please help, I'm scared she's never going to get used to it and I won't be able to take her out ever again :(

Good luck! I have JoJo’s suit in his toy box, back in it’s package! He still hates it!
FYI, this isn’t FB, not sure what you mean by hate in the comments!

The secret to getting a Parrot to like a flight suit or harness is....................there is no secret. It just takes time. It takes putting it on every day, 365 times. Some birds accept it with less, and some will never like it and will chew it, and run from it. It took me a year or so to get my Amazon, Salty to accept it, and put it on no sweat, and ignore it once on. That was like 4 years ago, and we still put it on almost every night for a little bit.

Patience. Thats the secret, young padawan.

I've been wanting to do that with my IRN too. He chews fabric for pleasure so I imagine he would go to town with a harness. I had to dedicate a set of shirts for shoulder time (he gets a piece of me every so often too).

How old is your IRN and how long have you had her, and otherwise about how friendly is she with you? Mine is about 6 and he's been with me close to a year. Is a little moody but we get along fine after learning some boundaries. Mine might be a little more complicated because he came with a bonded cockatiel, who has been even less tolerant of handling.
