Gender specification

Hi

I was wondering if anyone around here could help me specify the genders of my birds. I'm not sure at all how it can be done, allthough i heard something about the color of their nose-beak-thingie?

I've added 3 pictures in an album on my profile, so if anyone could take an educated guess at it, I would very much appreciate it.

You need a DNA test to be sure.

Third is one male on the left, the right one to me is kinda blurred so need a better picture o the cere.

From Nr 1 to Nr 4.
Just from my guess.

The first one has a browny cere, with blue on the outside, which makes her a little hard to tell. Males don't get the brown, but females arn't very often blue! I'm guessing female though.
The second one is a hen 'in season' (what do you say for birds ready to mate?). She's ready to mate and her cere should be brown and crusty!
The third and fourth are both blue, very obviously blue too. So I'm pretty sure they're both male.

& age! Very young budgie's often have the same coloured cere. It's almost like it needs to 'shed' first before you can really tell. Doesn't take long but if you've got a REALLY young bird, then it's not fool proof.

I have an albino too, her cere is pink. But she'd be pink even if she was a male because she's an albino!

I added a couple of extra photos of nr. 1 & 4 to better show the color of their ceres. We bought nr. 3 & 4 together and were told that one was (probably) a girl, so i assume that nr. 4 really is a girl. She also has some of the same sharp screeching sounds as nr.1.

We've always thought that nr. 2 was a grumpy old fellow, but i guess we stand corrected

Sorry for blurry pictures btw, but they're a bit spooked still, and my camera phone ain't no telescope.

I think the blue budgie is a female since the brownish redfish tinge . The yellow and green budgie I think is a male since I can see a light sky blue in there
