Gandalf the Crow models

Awesome pictures, and love the outfit:) Goes well with Gandalf.

Stunning photos! I love the last one where Gandalf is all fluffed up. That bird was BORN to do this kind of stuff:D!

A couple more from that session:

The river one actually has a story. We were up in the mountains stopping at different locations. I had that water shot in mind, but every time we found water it was either white water (fast moving and somewhat deep), on private land, or we'd have to scale a cliff to get there. I knew of a great location, but I wanted to use it as a last resort, because it's a very crowded and popular location in the middle of a historic city.

Well lo and behold, we didn't get that shot in the mountains. Sigh. So here I am, walking through downtown historic wild west town in my renaissance costume with my pet crow. People stared. People took out their cell phones and took pictures and videos (for the record, I'm fine with that, just please ask first), some people even laughed.

Anyway, we go down to the river. It's mostly rapids, but there are a few shallow spots where the younger kids play. We found one such location. There were about four kids there, and multiple people rafting by in inner tubes and kayaks. We set up our shot, meanwhile a kid asks his parents "Is that lady a pirate?" Huge audience. One woman is filming our entire photo shoot on her phone.

We're taking pictures. We took some facing the open water. We had to pause while the tubers and kayakers passed. At one point, Gandalf thought that the water in the river looked fun to play in. He realized that it was a bit cooler than his bath at home as soon as he landed, and looked up at me with his "RESCUE ME NOW!" eyes. That boy throws tantrums, and he does it adorably.

Of course, like any responsible owner, instead of picking him up immediately, I left him there for the photographer to get a picture. Then I scooped him up and we cuddled for a few minutes before that water shot I posted was taken.

Absolutely stunning! Gandalf is a natural model.

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and story behind them. I really enjoyed it.

It's crazy how people think that as soon as you're dressed up, or holding something interesting, it's a free-for-all on the photography front XD

How great that you can take him "out and a bought".
