Hi, my name is Karen and I have just got a 7mth old Galah called Boo. I am new to keeping galah's and would like some help with regards to feeding him. The shop where we got him/her from said to feed anything except avocado. I know they need fresh berries I.e strawberries, Raspberries etc.. Can you feed them Blueberries???

What is the best diet to feed it on, I want to give him or her the best diet I can. Also I was told it is to young to determine the sex. What age is it possible to find out if it's a he or a she and how do I do it?

Any vet will be able to sex her. There are a couple of bird rescues and breeders around here that will do it for $40. I am sure you have the same thing. They take a little blood and DNA test for sex.

As for food, never had a goffin, but I feed my U2s fresh veggies, fruits, some nuts, Nutriberries, and an occasional portion of hard boiled egg (which makes me feel weird for some reason).

Welcome to the forum!! Lots of members here have galahs as they're a popular Too. Diet is important and what to watch for as well because they can be prone FLD (Fatty Liver Disease) but with enough exercise (which should get plenty of as they're always on the go!) and a good diet, should be a happy and healthy Rosie!

One thing is handy is making bird chop, mixing a variety of veggies/fruit/beans/grains and serving in portions.
