A galaxy far far away
Parrots
MelloYello-Pineapple Green Cheek Conure
Hi! Iā€™m looking into adopting a parrot. Iā€™ve only owned smaller parrots (conures) in the past. I have researched birds for years and believe I am ready to own a slightly bigger bird. Iā€™m not going for huge, but something more medium. My favorite species are rose-breasted cockatoos, and I have my eye on a galah in a rescue. Iā€™m not really deciding on an exact species, as I would like to visit rescues and find the bird that really chooses me. Id just like to be fully prepared for anything.
I made this post to ask for advice and any and all stories people may have about galahs and medium sized birds. What advice do you have for going from smaller birds to medium and what should I expect bringing one home? Over preparing is better than being under prepared! :) Thank you so much in advance!!
Have a lovely day!!

Good luck. Prepare to spend more $$ that is for certain. Bigger parrots need bigger toys, and if they are real buzz saws, that adds up very quickly.
