Greybeard, M. Congo AG h03/09
We're in the middle of a 2500 mile road trip. This is the first for Chewbaca, but Greybeard is an old hand at it. She rides most of the time on the seatback next to my right shoulder, or on my shoulder, while Greybeard is content on the wood grillwork on the top of the cage that's strapped to the back of the left middle seat. When we reserve at motels, we just say we have two birds in a cage. Well, at least we have them in the cage when they sleep. Most of the rest of the time is on the PortaPerches. Pets are free at Motel 6, but $20 each at Super 8. We haven't had to resort to either of those yet. We've been at the Coburg, Oregon b&b the last 3 nights, and it's only $20 more than the Motel 6. The owner's father found a CAG in a tree at least 20 years ago, and it was passed to his brother when the father died after 15 years.
We stopped at a store in Kingsburg, Calif, so my semi-Swedish wife could spend a wad. I entertained the family and passersby with the birds.
Multi-megapixels of pix were taken of our pair by some of the 50 odd people at my family reunion Saturday. I should have taken pix of that crowd, too. I've been promised pix by the semi-pro fotogs there, though.
From here, wifey wants to go home down the coast, while I'd like to go see friends in the Forgotten Sierra, near Quincy.
