Furniture Style Bird Cage Help, Please

This is my first post on this forum site but I have been getting information from here for quite a while. We have an African Grey, Sun Conure, Umbrella Cockatoo, and we just bought a Blue and Gold Macaw. We have very large nice cages for all the birds but I have been looking at the furniture style cages to add a different look in the house. I can find very few customer reviews on these so I am hoping some of you could give me some personal opinions. I have been looking at Avain Accents, King Solomon, & Cages By Design. I like the ones that have the bars at least on the sides but as long as it has the clear front the more bars the better. I know a lot of people do not care for this style of cage but for those of you that do have them could you please chime in. Do you like the cage? Does "your" bird like the cage? Any pros/cons to mention? Do you feel they are worth the money taking into consideration the look, quality, and both the bird and your satisfaction. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never had any of those, but I knew someone who had a cage by design cage. They LOVED it so much. It had bars on the side and UV lights.

A Mac and probably the Too also, is going to get to the wood on the Cages By Design and make it into toothpicks. I had talked to someone who had a Hy and the bird destroyed the cage and the guy was surprised. ???? You put wood within the reach of a Mac and you are surprised? Also that wood has been stained or painted which makes it dangerous to a bird

There is not enough air flow in those cages. That front is plexiglass so don't think that bird will not get hot in it. Granted, the other sides have wire but that is still not enough air flow.

I have heard people say the plexiglass scratches easily and is hard to get to it to clean.

You are really limited in how you can place perches and toys in there because of that plexiglass.

To me, the comfort of the bird is top priority and not putting them in a display case as how these cages are designed to be.

Nope, don't like them and will never own one.

You made a few very good points, but I wonder how the Hy got to the wood? The cages showed below should be safe from chewing.

Personally I like the traditional bar cage over the fancy cages no matter how beautiful the above cages are.

i prefer practical cages over fancy cages, so i prefer the bar cages myself as well.

acrylic does scratch easily and it can block air flow

I think you can have those made with bars all around instead of plexiglass though, which would be nice and equally as pretty I think
