funny outing

I took molly out in her harness a couple of days ago and and these are the things people said he he he

"is it real?"
"its feet look like a lizards!"
"will it bite my finger off?"-its a cockatiel!!!!!
"is it a macaw?"
"does it talk?"
"won't it fly away?"
"is that a bird?" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"whats its name?"
"is its name polly?"



its so funny what people say it like there never seen a bird before!!!

the first time I took Gilbert out on a real walk, downtown, where many people saw him, it was almost uncomfortable.....all eyes were on me.

"look a parrot is on her shoulder!!!!"
"why won't it fly away?"
(all the same things you heard, hahaha)

my favorite was these two very cool guys, maybe in their early 20s, who rolled the window down at a red light and seemed genuine in their expression of how totally cool Gilbert was.
OH my other experience tied as my favorite was the little boy (maybe 5 yrs old) who said I was a REAL PIRATE. hahahaha

It is almost uncomfortable... I get the same responses. But we just walk around like proud parents.

it's surprising how many people know very little about birds. they look in amazement....and often if someone sees the bird they say something like 'i have a friend with a parrot too'. when you ask what kind they say 'a green one'. hahaha (um, lots of parrots are green.....)

lots of parrots are green!!!! i feel sorry for there bird!

haha I know the feeling.. you will either see me with a dog, a bird or a monitor on the leash.. sometimes 2 out of 3... Haven't done 3 out of 3 yet cause Monitor and bird would likely clash.. Nom nom.. But yeah.. people are whacky
