Funny Caique stories

This is a place to write about some of the funny things our birds do. You know those silly or ingenious things our birds do that make us laugh or smile that the non-bird lovers in our lives don’t seem to understand why we find it so amusing.

Here are some examples

There will be a place to write about these moments at the top of each of the breed forums. So get those stories rolling…. Oh yeah, stories that have pictures always gets a couple extra brownie points.

:07:My girls, KozmoKramer and Mickey Bird, are bonded females, 4 years old. You know how caiques love to wrestle? These two were hanging by one foot each from the roof of their cage, just going at it as they often do. I was watching them. They both paused at the same time and leaned back. In stereo, they both whistled, at the same time, the "Charge" tune....and went right back to wrestling!!! It was the cutest, most funny thing I've ever seen! And I'm the only human to witness it! I absolutely love these girls!!:07:

I had a funny moment earlier today while introducing my caique, Charlie to clicker training. I downloaded an app on my phone to use instead of buying a clicker.
I had successfully started the rhythm of training my bird and rewarding him with sunflower seeds and apple. After about the 10th time, there was a large bang outside and he suddenly lost interest and i left him by the phone and his toys while I quickly looked for where the sound came from. I couldn’t find an answer so when i was about to come back into the room to my caique. I heard the clicker noise 3 times and it turns out it was Charlie pushing the button on my phone.... Who knew a birds tongue can work an iPhone...

At this stage I think my bird might train himself... lol

I like to say that my bird trains me. I learn what he will do when I do a thing. And I keep doing the thing and he repeats his little trick. I am trained pretty good.

Not my caiques but anyway.............

Visiting our local bird only pet shop, they had a large cage with like 18-20 caiques in it. We were checking them out when an employee came over with a customer. The employee must have been a new one, because she opened the cage door and was not ready for what happened. As soon as the door cracked open a bit, they all bum rushed the door and most escaped into the store! My wife and I were laughing so much!
