Kayko- B&G Macaw
Doogie - Catalina Hybrid Macaw
I have been retired now for over a year and in the past year I have had a blast with my three macaws. My B&G Kayko is extremely timid and highly unusual in that I can safely put him on the arms of a 2 year old and no one would ever get bit. My Scarlet Clifford and my Catalina Hybrid Doogie would probably bite someone so badly they would put them in the hospital, but Clifford will consistantly talk in public and so I take Clifford and Kayko out in public places and put Kayko on total stranger's arms for cell phone pictures. Kayko probably holds some sort of world record for number of pictures as he has easily had 5,000 taken of him this year alone. I weekly go to the beach, the Town Center Mall, and the Riverside Arts Market. Kayko is for the pictures and Clifford does all the talking. Every race, tribe and nation, young and old wants a picture with a macaw on their arm and I give them this opportunity! This also can be highly profitable as I regularly get tips and I give people a little education on what makes a macaw a macaw and how they differ from other birds. Naturally all my birds are well trimmed so there is no flying. Take your trimmed bird out in public and enjoy meeting new people!
