Frustrating vet experience?

Guess I'm here to vent. I posted earlier about a possibly sick conure and the vet visits have been a nightmare. So the 1st time I took him (about 2 hr commute overall), they couldn't take blood because they wanted the 2nd vet there helping. Went the next day for blood. Some of the blood tests came back elevated so I was recommended a second vet (different office). Went to an appointment, was told they couldn't x-ray the same day. Took in my bird again this morning, has been at the vets for 7+ hours. When I called the vet was performing a procedure on another animal. I've been worried about my bird all morning and dread them saying they were unable to do the x-ray today. Am I being unreasonable? I try to practice patience as I work in the medical field myself, but this is really getting on my nerves!

Look up a avian vet that specializes in birds in your area. Avoid regular vets and most exotic vets.

I'm praying for you and your birdie.
This sounds very frustrating.
And I'm not liking that they aren't skilled in taking blood. I would go get your bird, and forget the x-rays. You need to find a certified avain vet, or find a vet school. It's frustrating finding skilled avain vets, often you do have to drive a ways...
I hope your bird is ok.
