Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...to a MONSTER!! Jonesy..I have no clue what has become of The Cockatoo Man..SOMETHING has set him off..and its not good

He has gone from a sweet lovable little 'too to something I can't mention here..and his attitude has changed dramatically.

He now screams/screeches relentlessly..just on and on and on..for 15 or twenty minutes STRAIGHT! he was never like that. As soon as I am on the phone,or sitting alone..or talking to Arleen..or if Arleen is on the phone..or watching tv..he just goes on and on..to the point where poor Amy yells SHUT UP!! and its no stop!! We end up having to cover him up!
And when he is out of his house and on his roof top..poor Arleen would be giving him loveys and all of a sudden CHOMP! she gets bit! He does this with me also.
It is getting real bad,to the point where we cut his "out" time down coz he'll chomp at our feet.
Arleen found him up on top of Amy's play pen the other day and they were side by side with no problems at all.
The only thing that has really changed is that I have a new job where I am now working 3pm to 3am and its been every day for the last 3 weeks so I am not around a lot but he used to be great with Arleen when I wasn't around before.
D.J. <Arleen's brother> who I adopted Bonesy from finally fessed up and told us that's why he gave him up..his relentless screaming. I love the guy <Jonesy, not DJ> :p and don't want to send hm to yet another new home, but we are at our wits end.

He eats well..all sorts of nummies..he has play things..and gets loveys from both of us,but he has turned unpredictable with his chomping and ear piercing with his screaming. And yes I do know 'Too's do that..but he never did,at least, not here. Any suggestions????

Just go back to basics, and reinforce the training...

Screaming protocols get strictly enforced. (I've got a post on that one.)

Go back to basics with no biting and step up training. "Here's your refresher attitude adjustment."

"Time outs" when he bites. Enforce those boundaries.

How old is this bird?

Hormonal? Sounds like it.

I'm thinking hormones and since one of my birds nailed me yesterday...I'm hoping hormones. Because otherwise she is such a sweet bird and boy is she trying to make up for it now.

Sorry to hear of this, Jim. No pun intended as I can't literally hear the Cockatoo Man screaming this far!!

It may be hormonal as some of my loveable Goffins have behavior issues including biting. Like Mark posted, definitely enforce the aggression issues strictly; as far as the screaming is concerned that is a bigger issue to which there is often no great answer. Hopefully that will pass when the hormones mellow.

Yeah.

Sounds like a seasonal thing... give it a few months, enforce the boundaries, and he'll be back to normal in 6-8 weeks.

Biting,

But, Birdman666, I believe your screaming post is on a different forum? Unless it is buried in someone else's thread?

Nope. Right here.

That is so weird! When I search on your profile and pull all threads you started, it skips that one! I see your other post on 10/10/2014, but not this one! Thanks!
