Parrots
Barankin (2006 - 2013)- peachface lovebird
Tihan - Yellow naped amazon (6+ years)
So I had an idea to make a playgym for Tihan and get rid of the cage.
I've cut a piece of grape tree and asked my dad to do something with it.

Tihan hates my father and each time he sees him, he's making funny noises and bites the closes human.

My parrot was mad like a dragon while my father was assembling the tree. I had to even close him in the cage. He was biting and destroying everything.

The second he stepped on the tree, he was so happy, he fluffified and started laughing and chewing everything and... playing with toys!

When my father was disassembling the cage, there was no f**** given.
Tihan had no desire to bite and didn't bite anybody ever since. It's been a couple of days that he had no mood swings or anything.

My mad parrot changed 180 degrees, like he's 5 years yonguer and never was abused.

Cage territorial. Defending the territory. No cage = nothing to defend.

My red lored has lived on a manzanita play table I made for her, for about ten years now. I agree. An open door policy changes their attitude. Usually for the better.

This was an AWESOME read!!! ***** and all! :D

Totally remarkable and incredible what a difference a 'habitat' can make, isn't it? I'm in awe!!

That table stand is awesome! I so want to do something like this for Davy. Is it just a table and grape branches/ trunk?

Very happy that brought such a positive change for your fid!

Great idea for a play stand, it looks fantastic and Tihan is looking awfully smug perched in the middle of his new amusement park.

Well... it's not an actual table. We found the feet in the garbage. The branch is grape. The clear part of it is from the pet shop, the other one was cut in a friends garden.

The table top is just a piece of cheap wood like material.

The foot is hollow, so the branch stands inside and is also screwed.

I'm not sure if it would hold well, if u just buy a table and screw a branch to the top. It's too tall.

hehe. He was taking a nap actually. He's still napping a lot, but it's much less than when I got him (it was all day)
