Doesn't even have to be a good one!

Calm down, I'm kidding. It's just one of those days. All those times before when I asked, "could Chicken be starting puberty?", you guys should have slapped me. Then you should have told me that if I had to ask, no she wasn't. Now I know.

And oh my goodness. She is a handful. Some days she is still as sweet as can be. She will come out and get everyone's breakfast and clean water dishes with me, just like she always has. Or, like the other day, she'll step up out of her cage just fine, sit on my wrist just fine. Then we'll be halfway across the room and out of nowhere she'll reach down and bite the crap out of me.

I've had to change out the bowls in her cage, so that all of them are locking bowls now. She's been throwing full blown temper tantrums in her cage, dumping food and water all over while she screams. Although she still gets food everywhere, she keeps scratching like she's trying to nest in her food dish. Between the thrown food and the temper tantrums, it really is like the terrible twos with a toddler.

Plus she's been so unpredictably nippy lately, that even she has started saying, "don't bite your mom." She hasn't really gotten under anything "nesty" yest, but she has definitely been trying to get off her play stands a lot more. I just try to get her as soon as she hits the floor, because I'd rather do that than wait and find out if she is going to try to run under something I'd rather not have to dig her out of. Although, sometimes it's dangerous to even go near her cage. There have been a few occasions that even walking past her cage, she fluffs up and starts growling as I walk past.

The demon is really starting to come out in my little cuddly Chicken.

LOL!!!!!!! Welcome welcome welcome its nice to have a fellow sufferer of the Red Devils with me! Venus is horrible when she's moody and she has started to try and bite me thru the bars of her cage when she has a tantrum and like you said very sweet when she wants to be. And she runs around her cage all fluffed up and fat. Lately she has been trying to get Buzz, talk about serious attitude

Yea, I thought the attitude from my human daughter was bad enough lately. At least she doesn't bite. Chicken has at least kept her bite pressure training in mind for the most part, there has been no blood shed yet. Although I hope she doesn't get as bad as Venus, at least I know I'm in good company if she does. [emoji14]

Yeah, those hormones can be rough. The one time my sweet Maya ever bit me was when she had her first hit of hormones. I think she was just as surprised as I was. Lol! But I've been lucky in that regard. She hasn't really done anything like that since.

Hopefully Chicken will settle down some once she adjusts a bit. Otherwise... as you said, you'd be in good company with Tracey and Venus. Lol!

You Ekkie people with your cute little bite marks...the last dark Gus bruise has nearly faded and I can barely see the marks from the two before that. Wanna trade?

Let's trade. I don't think you know what you're asking for. [emoji14] I've taken a bite to the face from both a mollucan too and an ekkie, and I'd rather get bit by the too again, to be honest. But hey, that's just me. And don't ask, both bites were incredibly stupid on my part, not exactly shining moments.

LOL my galah needs locking bowls now as he loves to pry his food bowls up and throw them down. I figured that one out though lol

Man, I am getting Harley better at not biting me, and I can only imagine these two hoodlums at that stage lol. I'll stock up on the bandaids!!
