Yesterday our friends found and alerted us to a tame Quaker parrot at our elementary school. We went up there and took her home. We already have an array of birds ( Eclectus, conure, quaker, lovies, parakeets). I am trying to figure out if this bird is juvenile or old. It's feathers are standing up a bit on it's head and less streamlined on it's head and body than our other quaker. Not sure if this is due to how long it's been in the elements (we are in FL...still hot), age or sickness. Seems to be in decent health so far. Thoughts? Also does not have as strong of a grip as our 3 yr old quaker...but is completely tame. We cut it's wings and have him/her isolated for the time being.:orange::orange::rainbow1::whiteblue::blue2::red1::green2:

Oh and it also doing a lot of fluffing of feathers....eating, drinking and poop seems ok

Once mature tell age is hard.

Take the quaker to an avian vet. Get him or her scanned for a microchip if a leg band isn't present. Check for illness.

Then put up signs around the neighborhood, at the elementary school, pet stores, vet offices, bird clubs, etc stating that you found a green parrot and to call to identify.

Couple of ads I found....

Lost: small quaker parrot
missing Quaker Parrot!!
