Found a parakeet outside at work

I found this parakeet today outside my work. He was sitting on top of a car, looking at himself in the window. He didn't bite me when I picked him up so I brought him inside.

I immediately made a make-shift cage, snapped a picture and posted on a facebook page for lost and found pets in my area. I went home and brought back my travel carrier with some seeds and a drink of water, and he began eating and drinking immediately.

Thanks to social media, within two hours my workplace got a call from the owner. Winston is 10 years old and had been missing since Saturday (four days). She brought his cage in and when I put him inside he knew exactly where he was and seemed very happy so it was clear he was home! The owner was extremely thankful and was actually planning a funeral for him.

Well, that's my good deed for the day. I do love a happy ending

Wow what wonderful news! He's so cute and he has a cute name too. Sounds like his owner loves him a lot which is really wonderful to hear because budgies are sometimes not treated as the wonderful parrots they are! Cheers to Winston and his wonderful owner and you too Itzjbean.
