Not sure if this is a good thing or not but in trying to introduce the stick to my owa Rico I noticed he will move away from the stick toward my hand - he likes my hand more than the stick. So tonight after he spent some time on his perch and munched on some snacks he got all fluffed and appeared to be settling in for the night. I didn't want him falling asleep there but he had no interest in coming to me to go back to his cage. So I got the stick and used it to "herd" him onto my hand and VOILA - there he was. He didn't appear to be traumatized or anything he just seemed more content to be on my hand than on that perch with that stick lurking behind him:52:
So that stick has come in handy after all - maybe not quite what I had in mind but whatever works! Another successful day!
