Is there a way we can build them from scratch that is safe for them? My meyers loves to forage.

If you don't mind it being a little less than professional, you most definitely can. :) You can use a cardboard box, crinkle paper, paper bags, untreated/unbleached paper, and other things your bird likes. It should always be under supervision when foraging in it.

I'm sure other people will come by with more ideas too.

An untreated wicker basket is also great for foraging.

More items to add: finger traps, treats wrapped in coffee filters, loofah, rattan balls (with treats stuffed inside), pine cones, wooden beads/blocks, craft/popsicle sticks...

Look under origami, they have a lot designs, under which closed boxes.

I tried origami shapes for Percy - they are a lot of work and I fear he doesn't appreciate them any more than any ordinary old paper cup or paper bag ;).

Thank you all for your replies, I also found the coffee filter wiffle ball as an idea as well on this site
