Good morning every one! How are yall today? I was wondering do you buy specific "foot toys" or do you generally use household items? if so what are your birds favorites? Raz has claimed one of our packs of playing cards as hers. (my husband claims she is helping me cheat sense she bit holes in the jokers while I was holding them) she also LOVES straws... will carry them around the house. I have been careful not to give her thin disposable ones sense we have literally 100s of the heavy plastic reusable. She also has started hording my hair bands... I thought they were disappearing turn out she is hiding them behind the dog bed. Just looking for some good ideas of things to add to her toy box... She really enjoys her "floor time" but I wanted to give her some options. :) Hope yall have a good day and thank you in advance for the info!

Empty pill bottle with a couple pellets inside. TP/paper towel rolls, ball with smaller ball/bell inside, large wood bead, popsicle sticks, and all sorts of rope/yarn/felt.

Stuff...toy dinosaurs, puzzle pieces, rubber duckies, foam, beads, other things...

Ah and Folgers favorite is decapitating dinosaurs and foam anything.

Pumpkin likes small cat toys and straws and wads of paper, pens, small rodent toys, beads an old pill bottle with beads inside to rattle, baby toys.... He will play with pretty much anything.

Dog toys. Honest. I buy the stuffed toys, usually seasonal ones (right now the Halloween toys are on clearance) for darn near nothing at Petsmart. Usually they're buy one, get one after the season. When Rocky gets tired of them, he tosses them on the floor and my dog destroys whatever's left of them. Dog chew toys, like the braided rope, are good, too. Same benefit. Rocky gets bored, throws it on the floor, and Jack gets the hand-me-downs. LOL Junk mail is good, too. Rocky gets all the junk mail. He loves paper towel and toilet paper tubes, preferably with a little paper left on them because it makes such a mess to tear it off and throw it around.

Tiny little boxes like the kind mini Halloween candy comes in (Nerds boxes are PERFECT), empty mini raisins boxes, and the like, drop a few seeds or nuts inside, tape top and hand them out during telephone conferences with my coworkers/boss team.

I also buy bags of those plastic army men type toys (last ones I got were pink and purple princesses and frogs, not green army figures).

Cat toy section has some good ones to be used as foot toys, too. I just make sure they are non-catnip ones. Those little wood blocks for hamsters are enjoyed, too.

I usually clean out the dollar store of small items I know won't hurt them. Halloween found them playing with plastic spiders, orange plastic spoons, centipedes, Frankenstein rings, halloween colored bangle bracelets, pumpkin streamers, strung up bones necklaces lol :)

Hi Plum loves small wooden blocks, balls etc and flings them about the room. Good ones to get him running, skipping and jumping round the room is some wicker balls which we roll to him and he will toss about. we always cheer him when he does this. I have purchased wooden kids toys after checking they are safe, ie wooden truck, big shape jigsaw. he has a box of clean spare keys and some buttons in a jar which he finds interesting and loves to empty all over the floor. He gets bored quickly with them so have no issues re trying to eat any of these items. Cuddles win every time lol.

i never thought of the empty pill bottle thing before. That would actually probably work great...

Pill bottles are awesome!!! Also, I yard sale for baby toys. Stuff that plays music and see and says are always a hit. Duplo blocks (giant legos) are a fav too.

Old phone books and magazines make great shred toys, Junk mail and bills with account numbers are things that also get well shredded!!!

Willow's favorite toy is junkmail....she LOVES ripping up envelopes and pages. I guarantee there's enough shredded paper in/under the couch to start a fire, lol!
