Parrots
blue and gold macaw
What food works the best for your macaw to get it to take meds. that have a bad taste.
Thanks, in advance:blue:.

What type of medication are you trying to feed? If it's liquid, have you considered syringe training? This is a really nice way to be able to feed parrots meds without force, and it's a fun trick to teach :) If it's not liquid, you might try squishing the medication into a soft fruit, like a mango. I haven't ever fed solid meds, so I don't really know, though.

Scrambled eggs have worked here with Jody. I just give her a real small amount of egg, put the med in it (after the egg is cooked and cooled off) and when she eats that little amount I can feed the rest of her foods. I had learned to get the meds compounded (flavored) and take home extra so when she does not eat her meds and I have to try a different food, I will have enough to get her through for full number of times she needed to take it.
