  1. Does the food for my owa need to be kept in the freezer? the home I got Sammy from had it there.
  2. the size of the package..... the package size is pretty big I separated it into 2 ice cream buckets that I saved, placed one in freezer already. am I right?
  3. the other I have on a shelf near the cage at room temp. should all of it be kept in freezer?
  4. can he be fed straight from the freezer or let it set for a while to adjust temp before feeding?
So much to learn, thanks to all of you here for the help you have already given.
Sometimes I may sound like a idiot with some of the questions I ask, but I wanna know I'm doing right by Sammy.I figure the best wait to learn is ask , ask, and ask again until I am sure I understand. lol I love the fact that you are owners and lovers of the Amazon's that are willing to help and give advise from true experience vs calling a pet store and speaking to someone that has never owned an amazon but wants to sounds like they know something to sale a product.....

So again, thanks to you all so very much!!!

What kind of food are we talking about?

It's recommended to store seed in the freezer for around 72 hours to kill any potential pests inside of the food.

Pellets can be put in the fridge to keep them fresher for longer.

If you aren't buying large amounts of dry food, then you don't need to keep it in the freezer or fridge as long as you use it up within a 3 month time frame. (as recommended by some manufacturers)
