Food size for Lovebirds

My hubby just got a 12 week old Lovebird (Taffy) and it was weaned to seed. I have been getting it to eat pellets more and more but I am having to feed it budgie sized pellets. I don't know if it because I used my budgie to teach it to eat pellets or if the bigger pellet size is an issue. She just throws the bigger ones out of the cage.
I got Zupreem natural pellets size Medium because it listed lovebirds on the bag. Is it too big for a lovebird? Does she just not like it because its new or maybe she is too young? help please.

Basil eats Harrison's fine (not superfine) pellets. I am not sure how many larger sizes there are. You would probably have less waste with the smaller pellets anyway.
