My boyfriend appears to have come down with food poisoning this evening. I'm not sick and the friend we had dinner with is fine too, but he became very sick very quickly. Not positive that it's food poisoning, but the symptoms match, and he was the only one at our table who had lemon in his water.

I just happened to leave Puck with my mom over night tonight. I couldn't find any info on speading food poisoning germs via other means, but would it be possible to spread it to Puck if I'm not careful? I kissed my bf before I realized that I didn't know if he's contagious or not. I can always leave him with her for another day or two if there is a risk. I will call the vet in the morning to ask too.

Food poisoning isn't contagious :) It's just your own bodys way of saying 'get that disgusting and wrong food out of me now'

Dont worry, you would be able to give him all the kisses and cuddles you want without worrying about that.

and if it's a virus, bird and human virus' are completely different and so we can't catch it from each other (except for the avian flu of course :))

Birds can host salmanela & e coli. I dont know if they can catch from you, but wash hands frequently & no beak kisses, sharing water or food. You BF could have ate something earlier, sometimes takes 72 hrs from the problem food for food poisoning to show up. If he loves your mom, leave him there & clean surfaces he could come in contact w/ b4 bringing him home.
