Food Placement and Newspaper

I have everything for my soon to be fid...and I have questions.

First off, where should I put the food bowls? Bottom, top, middle of the cage? All I could find on the forum was a question about food bowls in relation to the perches.

Also, I heard color printed newspaper shouldn't be used for a cage liner. If it's out of reach of the bird for it to chew on, is that ok, or is the problem airborne irritants?

The bowls in my cage are set into a food door . Secure thank goodness. I did install a perch but most of the time he stands on the bowl or grabs and sits somewhere else. <-- sorry if that is confusing lol

If there is no door then I would suggest mid way .

As far as the color paper if he can not access it then its fine to use

What type of Fid are you getting ?

Do you have the cage yet ? There should be sliding doors for food water and one to let your Fid enter / exit

I have a Petco finch flight cage, it's 30"x18"x18".
