So he broke another blood feather the other day. It didn't bleed horribly and I didn't see a reason to pull it since it had stopped bleeding by the time I noticed it. He has gotten around his collar since it is more flimsy then before...he now has a row of scabs across his chest. I put the stiffer old collar on and it looks like it is keeping him from chewing on himself again.

Folger is definitely just as skittish as before and not sure the move has helped him on that regard. He does seem more comfortable noise level and activity level wise just skittish and unsure still. We have agreed that other people have to take over some of the activities that Folger does not like to do. He tends to run from me now since he thinks I will make him do something he doesn't like to do. So mother is taking over baths from now on!

Pics of Folger on the stand in the kitchen with his new collar:)

Might he just need a period of adjustment to the new set up? It might still work out to be better once he's used to it.

I love the giant java tree in the window. I originally intended to do that with Alice's tree so that she could watch the world outside, but the world outside currently ranks as terrifying and dangerous so we've had to retreat for the time being... It must be great for most birds though.

I think Folger is so lucky to be in your care. At your home he has as good of a chance of living comfortably as he possibly can get anywhere. :) Good to make your mom be the bad guy lol since she's not his owner.

I think Folger is still adjusting all around... I mean I have only had him for 4 months! It seems so much longer but it hasn't been that long at all. The tree is facing backyards so there isn't much going on really. People go outside to garden but that's pretty much the extent of the activity back there so far.

Thanks:) I know he has made progress and I like to think in a couple years he will be a very different bird then the one he is right now! Jeanne at the rescue agreed that making my mother the bad guy is a good idea:D

That says a lot that you've made such progress in 4 short months! Just imagine years! If it can be corrected, you can do it :)
