I have a 6 week old pineapple GCC named Pippin.
I have a 2 month pineapple green cheek. When Pip and I are up in my room he is a easy going bird but tends to fly around a little bit. I want to bring him down to our living room and watch a movie with my family but he always flies on to other people. Even if I clip his wings he still flies. So far I have been putting him up every time he does it. How do I get him out of this habit?

Are you doing this to stop him from bonding with others, or because they don't like him? GCCs are generally quite gregarious, and you'll have a very hard time stopping him from wanting to spread the love.

I have to second the motive behind your actions. If the others are bothered, as some people are, by a free roaming bird landing on them, then I would say continue with your plan. However, if its to stop him flying at all, thats another issue entirely.

Small birds can usually fly well for up to 15-20 feet before losing altitude with clipped wings. So don't be shocked that he can fly. But don't over-clip him either. He can break his chest (keel) bone or his beak if he drops like a stone. Clipping is to prevent him from getting away, but gives them enough lift to spiral to the floor safely if they accidentally lose their grip.

A bird that is loved by the household is a really happy bird!

It's not that I don't want my bird to bond with my family members, they just get very annoyed when he lands on their shoulder. I would like to sit down and watch a movie with my family without him flying around.

Is his cage suitable for locating next to you while you watch a movie? If Hahnzel is too invasive I put him in his cage and close the door. Then I just put it next to me so he can be near me but not on me.

If you can get a Conure to sit in one place, and not run/fly from person to person - you're a Wizard.

As written above, about your only choice is to put him in a cage.
