Florida water alert!

Brevard county has now increased the amount of chlorine and ammonia in their drinking water supply to prepare for the hurricane. They have said it's safe for humans cats and dogs but have confirmed it is dangerous for birds. They say that the levels will be high until a week after the hurricane passes so until given the all-clear to use bottled water only until then.

They also said that most other counties are doing the same so for the entirety of Florida it is best to use only bottled water for the time being.

What to do if you can no longer get bottled water! Pour the water into a larger (wider) opening container and allow the chlorine and ammonia to evaporate from the large surface area. Left open in a protected area can cause the high levels to decrease over 24 hours. Use this only if you see yourself running short of Bottled Water. Note: Commonly, one would have a large wide container like a 'pie pan' and place water in that - that amount of water would be the normal amount that an Amazon would need with in 24 to 48 hours. So plan ahead.
