English Budgie
My precious boy Robin, who has been with me 23 years now, thankfully is healthy and still going strong .
So the gang of teenage brats (the thugs) - Raven, Bronze Winged Pionus and Griffin, Ruppellās Parrot are both 4 at this time (Raven is 7 months older than Griffin). Since becoming teenage boys theyāre personalities have undergone a marked change. They are usually up to no good together, but they have no problem causing trouble on their own.
Still the same silly weirdos, but they are just bolder now. They will try to get away with anything considered bad behavior at all costs, even if it means going back in their cage. They are trained to know certain words and commands, but will take every chance to defy me and see if they can push it. They have gotten a bit more territorial too. Not anything out of control though, since I set boundaries when they were younger. So it could be worse. Actually, they are good boys many times too . Griffin is, and has always been a little ācloser to the wildā than other hand fed parrots, and seems to have stronger wild instincts and more feral behaviors. He has his ways of showing he loves me.
Mink and Chip the English Budgies are cute as ever, and as Chip has matured, he started to become great singer. He does āthe canaryā where his song contains all sorts of interesting sounds, complete with chirps, tweets, trills, bubbling, and thwacking noises.
Then Pinky and Patches, the Bourkes and Princess of Wales parakeets. If some of you remember, my mom who had developed Alzheimerās last year was no longer able to care for her boys, so I took them to my home. That made 2 too many birds (and cages to clean). Ugh, although itās too many birds for me, I just couldnāt rehome them. Iāve loved those boys for a long time, as if they were always my own. I feel bad that I donāt have enough time for them. Even though they wonāt let humans touch them, they do like when humans visit and talk to them.
Iād LOVE to have an indoor aviary here for them. One side for the budgies, and one side for the other keets. Theyāll have more room to fly and socialize with each other, and I can just spray and floor squeegee the bottom instead of changing paper and cleaning grates (sorry but 5 is max, the 7 makes too many to clean). I do it anyway though! We are slowly renovating (mostly ourselves to save a ton of money) that this old house needs. That (the indoor parakeet aviary) is definitely one of the items on the list of home improvements!
Ok... recent pics of everyone coming
