Lincoln's feathers are coming in wonderful, his flight feathers are gorgeous and I'm so proud of him for coming this far. Now, I have no idea if he's ever flown. I really want him to utilize flight but I have no idea how to go about safely teaching him to fly.

Short flights to known landings IMO. Cage top to stand and back. Strength building before he goes much further. Has he been doing any practice of wing flapping?

Ensure he knows your home, carry him around, tell him all its secrets, build that mental map with him.

I honestly havent been home a lot lately due to appointments and school but whenever I am with him there is no wing flapping. What if he just doesn't KNOW he could possibly fly? Like, how would I safely introduce that concept to him?

I know the feeling. My sprinkles got his flight feathers in for the first time a few months ago. When he gets up the nerve to fly he is really good. He still would rather have me just pick him up.

It is exciting.

He will know he can fly when or if he gets spooked. Thats when Sprinkles first did it.

Jordan never flew before, she recently got all her flights back and I was scared to let her fly.
The other day she unexpectedly flew to her cage on the other side of the room. I'm so proud of her.

Unless his wings were clipped too early when he was young, he should be able to fly.

IMO a bird can always learn. It's teaching that's the hard part! Language barriers are the biggest difficulty of course. Short sessions going to and from the cage then you can work up to the big stuff. Of course some birds do decide they prefer a walk to a flap
