Flavored Cheerios?

Hi everybody!

I was just wondering if it's ok to give my birds some of the more lightly flavored cheerios as a treat. Specifically right now I have the Apple & Cinammon cheerios. They have foraging toys arriving today and I thought it could be good to stick that in them, but I also have regular multigrain cheerios if not.

Thanks!

No doubt they'd love the flavor, but increased sugar and likely artificial flavors/colors suggests otherwise. I use original Cheerios as an occasional treat, birds seem to like the taste and shape of a "birdie donut!"

Ok, I was unsure about that! Are the multigrain ok? I know what you mean, I feed them as a treat as well and my birds devour them.

I generally don't buy the original, but I will if it's better!

I like to think of it this way...not good for you, not good for them.

In fact, I am more strict for them. Anything artificially colored/flavored is a no-go.

Been a while since I compared original Cheerios with multigrain, but believe the latter either has more sugar/fat or perhaps sodium? Whatever the difference, I chose to continue with original. But we're speaking of relatively small quantities, so it might not matter.
