Flapping wings before bedtime

When I put Peanut on her perch to go to sleep for the night she immediately flaps her wings as fast as she can for a good thirty seconds. It's like she's getting the last bit of energy out before she goes to sleep. It's really cute and I was wondering if this is something all birds do. She does it every night.

Try giving her a chance of a little more exercise and this may stop. If not it is just part of her character, Plum does a weird figure of eight head waggling with his wings out and butt in the air?? Oh but only if he thinks we are not watching him LOL.

Peanut does that figure 8 thing with her head too. The first time she did it I had music on and I thought she was dancing for a second, but she has done it other times too so I'm not sure what the heck she is doing.

Both Ralph the QP and Scooter the CAG do wing-flapping exercises once or twice a day. Scooter usually does hers first thing in the morning (and sets up a snowstorm of Grey feather dust :D). Ralph does his wing-flaps at different times of day, but often waits until just before bedtime.

Salty will do the wing flapping thing when he is playing on his overhead chain/playstand. He gets worked up playing ( meaning attacking) with one of the hanging toys, getting harder and louder, until he either screams,or does the wing flapping thing. One does not bother him until the flapping is over and done.
