Ember's first visit to the vet went very well!! He got into his carrier calmly and stepped right onto my finger out of it when we got to the room and stayed on the gram scale stand to look at the doctor. He made a little bit of noise when she toweled him and did her exam but she was very thorough and soo friendly. He got a nail trim too. No blood or gram stains done today but plan to do those in the future after he gains some weight. He is 71 grams at 4 months old which seems small to me for a young cockatiel (I think the average adult size is 90-110 grams) but the vet did not seemed concerned about it.

He's such a handsome birdie! And well-behaved too...I wish my Senegal was like this at the vet, lol. Kane purposely does everything he can to make the vet's job as difficult as possible, and then I am usually the one who gets bitten trying to calm him down...

First wellness check, and periodic ones are the best birthday present you can give your parrot. Ember is so calm!

What an angel!

Everybody except the vet cringes when the Rb arrives, screaming and snapping. The up-side is that we're taken back to an exam room right away so that other patients and parronts don't get upset.

Look at how he looks at the vet, as if to say "hello, nice to meet you!"

Ember is so cute! Glad his first visit went well.

He does look like he's having a good ol' time despite being at his doctor! Sounds like he took well to it and all is well. What a cutie! My little adult/senior guy hovers around in the 90s for his weight.
