First time bird owner

Hi Everyone! This is my first bird, a sun conure named Mango. She is 10 months old and is truly the sweetest thing ever. She is out quite a bit. She has a play area in a different room from where she sleeps. There are four of us in the family and she goes to all of us. We all can feed her, we all can take her out of her cage. She loves our shoulders and hair. I have taught her to say three words so far. I want to start tricks soon. She makes her wonderful squawking sound when ever she sees me. I am the only one she does that to. It makes me feel special. She goes under my ear and just cuddles with me and talks into my ear. My heart melts. My question is that we are leaving on a vacation for 12 days. I am stressing out now because I do not want to upset her. I have a person that has been coming in periodically getting her out of the cage and having them both get to know each other. In any experiences that you can share, if they are getting proper attention and care, will they be very stressed out?? Thanks.

Welcome to you and Mango! Sounds like you have a good tempered well socialized baby there

I've always just kind of had the attitude that everything and everyone would be okay when I'm gone, and they always were. As long as you trust the caretaker. If a bird is well socialized, it might just be YOU who is stressed more than the bird! But then again it really depends on the individual bird too. A bird who is taught to be independent, and enjoys their alone time will be more "okay" than one who is used to a very high level of attention.
