Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(
And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
OK, here are a couple pictures of my newly adopted Goffin's 'Too...Jonesy.
sunday it will be a week since he moved in,and is coming along just fine.
Very sociable..talks up a storm..screeches a little, but not as bad as I thought he would.
I took him and Amy to the doc's yesterday for a general check-up. Both birdies are in very good health. Jonesy weighed in at 279g's < is that ok for a Goffin's?> his heart and lungs sounded strong and clear she said.
Amy weighed in at 507g's..the doc called her CHUBBY!
They both eat seed and the vet said I ought to try and convert them to pellets,so I bought a bag and have putting a few in their bowls at a time.
Jonesy will pick one up,twirle it in his beak, then drop it,where Amy will just fling it away.
Jonesy has a plucking issue < you will see how bad in the pics> and his doc says there isen't much that can be done about it,no magic spray or medication. He was plucking at his previous human, due to stress from an Umbrella, plus the move to here must be on his mind also.
He is very social tho. Loves his "out" time, running, hopping, talking etc.
He reluctantly gets on my hand then runs up my arm to my shoulder, screeching and talking and just carrying on. He seems to like my son, james,he can scratch his head and pet him.
OK lets see if I can post these pictures, notice the poor guy's bald chest! jim
