My B&G had his first ever 'out and about' experience today! It was warmer than it has been and the Sun felt great, so on went his harness and out the door we went.
He's been with me when I visited Petsmart to see a friend and to the vet. But he's never really been out and about. So today we walked around the block a few times with him on my arm.
He was a little shy at first, but once people started saying hello as they passed, he started saying it back! He was so calm and even preened as we went. He really got a kick out of people coming over to say hello, and loved the neck scratches he got.
The best part was watching him throw out his wings when the wind picked up, as if he was soaring
A week or two of this, if the weather stays nice, and maybe he can start walking with me at the park and going to get ice cream!
I'm making it a habit to make sure I take blueberries with me when I have him to give to people when they approach him so he Keeps seeing new people as positive things.
So proud of him for that 20 minute walk
