Peri and Honey FINALLY were comfortable enough here to take their first bath!! It was so precious!! "Daddy" hooked up a lamp near the cage for extra warmth, since we had a cool front blow through last night, and they went straight for the water dish and flapped around in it. SO precious!!!
They've spent the last hour preening each other and flapping around drying off, and now they are all fluffy and pretty again, but I did manage to get a wet scraggly photo, lol.

Here they are all fluffy again. Check out Honey's expression, lol. She cracks me up!

Is there anything cuter than a sopping wet birdy?:D

I love peached-faced lovebirds! They are so cute! I dont want to dissapoint you but im not interested in lovebirds, but your thread just grabbed my attention

I love the smell of wet birdie. Basil will only bathe when I take the bath out of his cage to wash and refill with water. He bathes when I am holding it in my hands (I get soaked). The rest of the time he just uses it as a water dish.

Very cool!! I guess if you have to hold his tub, you can't get pics at the same time, huh? ;)

I can't wait until the day mine are tamed enough to let them bath in the bathroom sink, under a tiny trickle of water. I saw some videos on YouTube of someone's lovebird doing that and it was totally adorable!

Basil had a bath in the bathroom sink once. He was on my shoulder and ventured down my arm to investigate. But now his routine is to have his splashy bath while I am awkwardly holding the birdbath (because it's meant to be mounted on a bracket in his cage, not set down on the counter) and getting wet myself. He has become very adventurous (as yours will too). I was big and scary to him once. Now he wants to be on me all the time. I've let his clipped feathers moult out so he's fully flighted now too. I worry about the adventurous streak. They are nosy little birdies and that can be dangerous. I'm careful not to let him out when I'm cooking. But he likes to have meals with us. Spoiled birdie will only eat his broccoli when he's at the table with us. I really have to take some pictures!

PS I think I saw that video on youtube too. There's another good one of a lovie playing inside a glass coffee carafe.
