Female Eclectus
Can anyone tell us the best way to find a new home for a female SI eclectus? Our life situation is changing and it would not be easy for her to adjust to. She has come a long way since we first got her, and we want her to have a great home. We want to interview any perspective household, preferably via email so it's not so awkward if she wouldn't be a good match. Placing her is very painful for us, but in the long run we hope it's best for her. Especially if we can find her a wonderful situation. The problem is, I can't figure out how to find her a great living situation. Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Also, be weary of anyone who posts about your bird and lacks an extensive post history. I am not saying people can't find birds on here, but we do get the occasional "flippers" etc, so just use good judgement when getting into contact with someone. You can tell their past posts if u click their name. You can also see how many times they have been thanked, which is a rough approximation of their posting activity. If all their posts are like, "looking for xyz", then be cautious.

This is exactly my concern! Many people want to get an animal cheap so they can "flip it"! How sad for the poor creature and parrots especially. They are incredibly dynamic, intelligent, long-lived creatures and bouncing from one bad situation to another is just terrible for them. It breaks my heart to think of this happening.

Thank you for your words of caution. We will not place her without knowing the situation very well! We will not place her with anyone not interested in an extensive dialogue on her future living situation.
