I finally found a breeder who lives nearby! :emoticonc he's been breeding parrots and other birds for the past 30 years. I phoned him and explained the situation and he asked me to come over with my parrots. He gave them an inspection and asked me a lot of things about their behavior, eating habits, sleeping habits, etc.

According to him they're in fine health despite what happened and that I've done a really good job with them over the past week despite not having experience with parrots (to my relief!). I offered them to him, but he declined, saying that I can handle them with him keeping an eye on us from now on. I must say, it feels very reassuring to have a mentor figure now. I know that I have someone to turn to for any advice I need.

Now on to Waffle: according to him, his leg is fine, and problem seems to be the foot itself. He believes that the "club" in the foot is getting worse, as evidenced by the toes curling in further and further. He seems to think that it's reversible though since Waffle has control over his toes and has a very good and strong grip. He believes that a cast would do his foot good to help it straighten out and relieve pressure off the "club", so tomorrow Waffle and I are due back at his place. Luckily, he's seen this a lot before and has a lot of experience in cast making, so I believe I'm in good hands.

That seems to be wonderful news. In the absence of an avian vet, a breeder with knowledge is your next best hope for helping Waffle.

I have no background with similar injury, so hopefully the idea of a cast is helpful.
