Finally caught Stormy's weird regurgitation behavior. What is he doing?

He usually does this after eating. It has always confused me and I couldn't find anything online. The other birds have never done this, only him. I have never seen another bird do this (and I have seen a LOT of birds). I hope someone has an answer, he doesn't seem to be in pain but it seems involuntary which concerns me somewhat. He has also had times where he was doing in and looked like he wanted to stop but couldn't. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Bumpity bump, I need a more clickbait-y title but I can't think of one

Is his beak open or closed when he does that?

I have never seen anything like it.

I think mostly open although he sometimes does it with his mouth closed. Do you think there's a chance I could find an avian vet to send that to, to see if they have an idea of what it is? I don't think he needs to go to the vet since he doesn't seem to be in any pain, but if his "thing" might cause health issues in the future, or could be an issue for him now, I want to know. It's just very hard since the vet is over 2 hours away and quite expensive. I will take him if I need to though.

I think the idea of a vet looking over the video is a good idea πŸ‘.
I would let more members comment

Beep bop boop bump

Does he only do that after eating? It reminds me a little of when one of my budgies had a yeast infection in her crop. But she would act like that even when she hadn’t eaten recently.

Mostly... what was the behavior when your budgie had a crop infection? He's been doing this a little over a year, is it possible an infection would last that long without killing him?

Hmmm probably not. My budgie definitely was not feeling well when she had a crop infection. I wish I had an answer for you, but I guess if he seems totally fine otherwise maybe it’s nothing to be too worried about?

Is it possible that the behavior is from him being shut in the door when he was younger? It may have started sooner, maybe not, but that's the best lead I've got. If I caused this I feel horrible. I think maybe I need to find a vet to look at him, tell me if he's in pain.
