Dusty: Dusky Conure
So today was my last day working for a large pet store. There has been a green cheek conure there for quite a while that i have had my eyes on. The otbher employees said he is really friendly and such... Well today I got to hold him for the first time. It was a good ending to my last few hours working with the company. I got to walk around the store with him perched on my finger. It was a great experience that had me wishing i could bring him home with me.

unfortuneately I go away to college every year and my parents have a hard enough time keeping Dusty, my Dusky conure content so I cannot add another bird to my home until after I graduate next year. It just wouldnt be right for me to get another bird and adbandon it for months on end. I feel bad enough about doing that to Dusty and not to mention the fact that Dusty has issues with a few of my family members which makes caring for him while i am gone hard on my parents. Now i can only image adding another bird to my already disfunctional family...*sigh* one more year and then i can truly think about adding another bird to my family. I hope that little green cheek i have fallen in love with finds a good home

Well Kudos to you for looking to the future instead of living for the minute I just wish more people would follow your example when making that long term commitment towards our feathered friends.....Bob.

I hope that little greencheek finds a good home too. Good choice though on waiting to get another bird when you have the time to spend with it.

i wasnt planning on getting another bird until next year, but then again i also wasn't planning falling in love with another bird quite yet :)

i will wait patiently

100 % correct waiting for the right time to get another bird. :)
I know how you feel, seeing the bird, falling in love with them.
Thank goodness we live in an apartment.......If it was a house, every room would be for all the birds I fell in love with.

haha i feel that about my house. I almost bought a bird cage today someone was selling at a yard sale. My dad was like, "where ya gunna put that???" I'd put it in the attic till i needed it :) Though when i drove back past the yard sale later (i didnt have time to stop this morning) the yard sale was packed up and done with... it was a nice cage. or at least looked that way. I was gunna see how much i could get for it.
