So I have another question! Two actually. 1) How much should/do baby conures eat? Pip seems to LOVE food and according to my scale, he gained 5 ounces in a week. 2) Do conures like to chew on their feet and toes? Can his feet get dry? He seems to chew on his feet/nails throughout the day and I am starting to wonder why.

You mean 5 grams right? 5 ounces would mean he got twice his size in a week....

Clark sometimes preens his feet but not so much I ever even thought about it.

I now have the image of a perfectly spherical 10 ounce bird in my head! Trying not to giggle at the thought of it.

Mine used to preen his feet. I feel unless they cut themselves there shouldn't be any worry

Haha! Sorry guys! My sister was talking about a recipe and I was talking to her about ounces when I was typing this, lol! Ok, I won't worry too much then. I just got concerned because he seems to do it quite often. His feet look fine but yesterday it looked like he was peeling them. I can't tell by looking at them today... I'm just not sure.

sounds like he's just got a bit of dry/peeling skin on his feet or even keeping his nails trim. Mine would often nibble his feet without any issue so I see none. Just keeping himself prepared for inspection!

Good that you worry, always better to worry than to regret it but this doesn't sound bad to me. At most just keep an eye out for any blood from his feet
