I noticed the latch was a little crooked, went to push it back in, the door came open just a fraction and one of our first bonded pairs of black masks flew out and away as quick as a flash. They were just beginning to nest fir the first time. I'm distraught, and feel so sad for the one thats left too.
So can anyone tell me what tha best thing to do now is, please? I don't know if its the male or hen that is still at home.
They are inside aviary birds and very nervous. Is there any chance that I could work with the one thats left and get him/her to bond with me, or is the poor little thing better to go to live with someone with a large aviary where he/she might bond again? Or perhaps there are other suggestions, all of which would be welcome.
Thank you so much in advance for your replies.
