Hello,

Me and my partner have just got a baby African grey, and we just wondering what everyone feeds theirs. At the moment we feed him on fresh veggies in the morning, some seed throughout the day and then some fruit and grains for dinner. Just wondering what seed or pellet you use (brand) and your diet plans are like. Thank you!!

:grey:

I asked the breeder what pallets did he give to my AG and now giving her the same type. It's called "psitacus".

mornings a mix of fruit and veggies
evenings they get veggies and grains (chop)

I feed Zupreem Natural and Nut Blend, Higgins Safflower Gold seed, and Lafeber's nutri-meals

I make birdie bisquits for breakfast, harrisons organic pellets for lunch, and dinner is whatever the family is having or if dinner is something not good for the birds, then I have a sprouted bean/and veggie mix that I will mash into a steamed sweet potato for them. Of course saturday and sunday they get the gourmet breakfast, scrambled eggs or a potato pancake and fresh fruit. and lunch is a birdie burrito.

I feed mine a homemade mash that I freeze and use for a couple of months. It's a little time consuming to make but once it's done your prepared for a couple of months. So they get the mash and "feed your flock" pellets in the a.m., I hide pellets and such in toys for them to find throughout the day and at night I might give them fresh fruit and veggies. With pellets or if I'm in a pinch I will give them more mash with pellets. I guess my birds are pretty fussy as they wouldn't eat Harrison's or roudybush, the love the feed your flock pellets. As for seeds, nope. They only get seeds when training or as a special treat, with the exception of my B&G macaw, she gets healthy seeds at night.

Same here, plus an almond treat about twice a week.

Great Ideas - I might have to change up my routine a bit. My birds dont like their veggies so I have to keep trying new ways of getting them to eat
