feather dusters?

so i was talking to my friend at work today, about birds, and she loves m2's so that would be her dream bird. which was my dream bird to begin with also. but doing all the research that i have been doing, all the stories that i have read and advice from every body else i told her that i wanted one too until i learned that it some times does not matter even if you are the best parrot owner in the world a 2 can still develop neurotic tendencies like plucking their feathers. and this is where she started telling me about this show she was watching on bird behavior and other things. but the person on the show said to put a feather duster in the birds cage so the bird ruins the feather's on the feather duster instead of it'self. so i wonder if anybody else has heard of this method, and if so have you tried it and how well did it really work?

I've heard of this and a variation of using a mop head( the long stringy ones)
Never needed it, so no experience.

Never heard of this myself, BUT it did start me thinking on something else though!
I'm gonna go look at replacement mop heads to incorporate into my toy making!! Possibly splitting up in 1/2 or 1/4's and then using knots to hold the wood in place!! Of course I'll be sure to see if the mat'l is "bird safe" before using this technique. Thanks for the inspiration!!

i have seen the mop head toy's, and i seen on a you tube video this woman made foraging toys out of gallon juice jugs. she of course washed them, cut some holes about the size of a hockey puck randomly around the jug. then she filled it with shredded news paper and put her birds favorite nuts in it. she had yarn tied around the neck of the jug but i would think something better than that. screw the lid back on and hang it in the cage or on a stand and let the fids have at it.

lmao, i just thought of the weirdest idea, since they like to eat the house what if they had a doll house made with safe to chew wood so they had their own house they could chew all they wanted and not yours.
