Pearl has little fits when we move things such as chair sometimes and over the months this has been done. Is it something I should worry about? The tips of the main two feathers are like this on each side.Sorry pic was taken with ipad.

Now as for these scratches. I'm assuming they were there when we got the cage. I just noticed that Pearl like to climb all over lately and I found this. Could the metal hurt her? I noticed the coating is completely gone in this spot. I don't know about this but could I get a crayola crayon and melt the wax to put over this? I don't know if it is toxic to birds so I'm not making any moves til I get a reply.

Thanks in advance.

I'm beginning to think this was from incorrect wing clipping:mad: I remember the tips being scraggly when I got her.

Does anybody know if the crayons thing is okay?

I can't really see the pictures too well, but the cage looks kinda rusty. I don't know about crayons, but the rust needs to come off the cage, or the bird needs a new cage. If it's not rust, disregard this. =)

What do you mean by 'fits'? As in seizures?

If that's the case, he needs to see a vet asap...

I think he means that when they move things in the room, she gets upset. My Nanday is so territorial over the front room, where the birds are she screeches over everything I bring in here. I can walk through the room with my laundry basket, a drill, anything really and she gets mad about it. She has lived here 12 years and still hates every single cleaning item there is: brooms, mops, vacuum, dusting things. She hates having her cage cleaned as well, but I'm quite sure she wouldn't like a dirty cage.

I don't think I'd use a crayon as I think the bird will notice it and get it off. Now they may not be toxic as they are made for children, but birds are much smaller than humans. As a child we had a dog briefly until we realized my mom was allergic and it did used to eat my crayons. It never got sick, but we are talking about a 1lb bird.

Did you see the link someone posted in my thread asking about cages that give directions for painting a cage? That might help. I'm not sure on the expense for having one powder coated again. I admit I'm wondering about the quality of the powder coating I'll get with that cage I just bought. I hope it's good quality, but these days you never know. Many things now are made in third world countries that have no laws about toxins or any quality control. We've had poison dog and cat food and poison tooth paste come out of those places. Crayons are probably made there as well these days.

Thanks for the replies:)And my case is like roxynoodle's.if Pearl had a heart attack she would definitely be to the vet ASAP.I have no issue taking her to the vet as its only about 35 minutes away:) And the cage is a powder coated mink brown cage I bought it new from petco.
