No, I think you are safe with anything you buy. I've never heard of anyone buying a certain kind before.Hi,
I have a question regarding faucets. I have to change my faucet and wanted to know does the metal type in the faucet matter ? When someone moves into for example an apartment, you are stuck with what you get...
Thanks

I never even thought of brass, thank you for mentioning that!Hi Terry,
Thank you for your quick reply. The one I've bought (before it occurred to me could be toxic) says it is made of brass, is brass not toxic to birds ?
Thanks!
Hi thank you for your reply,You can buy still water and give that to your pets.
Tap/municipality water sometimes have chemicals added that are fine for us, but long term can harm birds. Not commonly spoken about in the bird community.
I don't think rinsing is that much of an issue.Hi thank you for your reply,
But what about washing vegetables, she eats them daily, also with bottled water ?
Thank you for your replies. I actually have it already installed just last week, but was going to ask the repair man to come back and switch it to a new one I was going to buy, if there are issues with brass and toxicity.Brass is safe, and while mostly replaced by stainless steel in the average commercially sold faucets, personally I would not change out a fixture solely because it is made from brass. Most likely all the elbows, valves and couplings are made of brass, so just changing the faucet would not really help. Maybe a case of being overly concerned?
